Implants

Dental implants have been changing lives for many patients. It was not that long ago, that it was only a dream to have a lost tooth replaced with a fully functionally replacement tooth. However, since 1952, dental implants have proven themselves as a predictable and effective method for replacing missing teeth, or stabilizing dentures, making this dream a reality. There are a variety of types and forms, and continue to develop along with the advances in oral surgery and biomaterials.

Here are some of the ways that implants can help to improve your smile, and improve your ability to eat.

  1. If you are missing one or more individual teeth, we can usually add individual teeth to the original site and with the advances of modern porcelain, we can bring back that dazzling smile for you.
  2. If you have a number of adjacent teeth missing, implants can be used as anchors to support a bridge. We are unable to connect an implant bridge with one of your natural teeth, but typically we can place a restoration that is virtually undetectable.
  3. If your current denture is loose or moves around when you chew, we can typically stabilize the denture with two or more stabilizing implants. Your denture can be modified to fit the implants, but more commonly, a new denture is constructed to specially connect to the new implant fixtures.

The biggest advantage of dental implants is that they give us a second chance for an area where teeth are missing. As with any procedure, we encourage you to discuss any questions or concerns that you may have with our dental team. We would be happy to show you have dental implants may improve your smile and function.
